Well we have moved on to part two of our kitchen overhaul and it's so exciting to see the progress and the change! Although, I think I've decided to hold off on pictures until the "after" is complete :)
Presently we are working on the backsplash. The old, pink, hideous countertop went up the wall approx 4 inches so we had to rip that off when we removed the old countertop, which means now we're on to tiling. This was quite a fun part of the project to try and figure out....although we definitely had our moments of frustration! I really wanted a herringbone pattered backsplash, and bought a 3x12 high gloss white tile to make it happen. Then we ran into trouble. The saw that we were using chipped and broke every tile that we tried to cut at the 45 degree angle :( and then we bought a manual saw and tried again and the tiles just continued to break. So we had to come up with a solution amidst our broken tile chips. We were committed to the 3x12 tile so I came up with an alternative pattern. The information that helped me out the most was a blog post from A Beautiful Mess titled Subway Tile Designs Inspiration. I LOVED seeing the different ways that you can work with subway tiles. If you're thinking of doing a subway tile backsplash and need some inspiration, you should definitely check out this post!

If you go to their page, it shows you each pattern in a space to give you a better idea of what they look like in action! So...any guesses as to which one I picked?!
Hopefully by the end of this week we'll have our grout done and we can move onto the next project of painting the cabinets.....not sure how fun that's going to be but I'm quite excited to get everything done! Anyways...hope this Tuesday has been lovely for you :)
