hello 2016
Hello! I realize I'm a tad late but...Happy New Years! We had a wonderful Christmas with plenty of time spent at home, enjoying family time and then a week of travels visiting our wonderful families in Calgary and Swift Current. We definitely came away from Christmas feeling blessed and so grateful for all that we have, especially our families. Plus my sister and her husband welcomed their first little babe into this world, which made our Christmas even merrier! I hope your Christmas season was truly wonderful!
Today seems a bit chaotic at our home...school has started again, the laundry is piled a mile high, everything needs to be cleaned, organized, and new places need to be found for treasures received over Christmas....plus it's my littlest's birthday!! To say the least I'm a bit frazzled! But hopefully I can get organized enough to have a special birthday dessert for my little mister!
I'm excited for the new year that lies ahead. Honestly the past two "new years" have been difficult, as January 1st marks the day which I miscarried our baby. This January I feel a renewed sense of hope and determination to live intentionally, and take on the challenges that are in front of me. I'm excited to share this journey with you and hopefully I won't look back at this post in a couple months and realize I've totally fallen-off my New Years intentions!
As for our home, we have a few projects that are SUPER exciting, and once we get them rolling I'll share more with you!
Yesterday we took down all the Christmas decorations....which leaves me with a fresh slate to work with. In the January issue of Style at Home, one of the articles was the resurgence of pink furniture....and seeing as I haven't had the chance to reupholster my thrifted wingback beauties, I decided to bring them up and do some rearranging of our living room area. I LOVE being able to move things around and make my space feel updated without having to spend a penny! Plus my mom passed on some lovely greenery which is adding immensely to my space!
Well I'm off to brew a coffee, try and get some more organizing accomplished, and decorate for a special little birthday boy!
Here's to a new year and a new day!
